It really appears that President Obama had it right when he ran his campaign on the necessity of change. Most of America agreed with him because some sixty three million of us voted for him. The other part of this story is that fifty eight million Americans did not. I dont know if that says that they are not ready for change or not. But it would seem that the policies endorsed by Sen. McCain were of old school politics and a furthering of the status qo.

Now what is to come next ? Will President Obama really usher in a new Era for America? Will the policies of this new adminisration sincerely bring about change in America, and World change? I guess the jury is still out on that. That question will not be anwsered until sometime in the future. We can only pray that they will. I am a supporter of the new Presidents ideas. But I must reserve my opinion on the preceived affect his policies will have on our country and the world. I mean, maybe the Republicans have a valid point in not wanting to mortgage the future for the present. But I can not buy their policy that tax cuts must go along with the Stimulus in order to have a better effect on the economy. Really ! Any school kid can tell you that if you burn a candle on both ends, it burns twice as fast. But Lets take a closer look at the policies of President Obama.

He proposes to spend over one trillion dollars to jump start our economy and get America back to the good old days. But, isn't this the same thing that Sen. McCain was proposing, just in a different way. It is this writters opinion that we can never return to the good old days. Or even the days of prosperity that we have recently enjoyed. They just aren't coming back. We and the world have to rethink how we do business, how we treat each other, and how we align with each other. The days of domination are waining for America if we don't relinquish our unbridled thurst for pleasure, comfort and our overgrown Sense of Entitlement. After all we are leaving future Americans a tremendous mountain of debt to climb. And I don't think they can climb it.

The financial meltdown progresses more rapidly. In the last few months many hundreds of thousands of people in this very prosperous nation are now without employment. And many in foreign countries who depend on the products we buy are no longer employed as well. This is Big ! I believe that the results of the remedies proposed by the Obama admistration will be short term at best and in the long run they will exascerbate the underlying problem. We are living in a new era where there is no return to yesterday.

Our financial world has reached far into the future to grasp the prosperity that is waiting for us there, if we can create a sustainable solution to this current problem now. And this is what our focus should be, determing how to create a sustainable World Economy.  Its not just about America. If we are to survive and grow we must include cooperation with other nations, all nations if possible. We have reached far into the future and have brought those riches into the present day, gambling with the future of all of us and our desendants. For what reason ! For aquisition, greed, power or maybe even just wanting to return to past prosperity. It does not matter the reason, but they have reached far, far into the future and stolen from the future of what could be a sustainable economy. There is no making this up. I believe we will go through months and perhaps years of meager living standard.

There is no cheating the future, there is no over abundance or over expanasion that does not effect the future. Sure steady growth is the way to control prosperity. Not this excessive wanting and thinking it is ok to cheat or mislead the masses by any means necessary to acheive unbridled growth and selfish gain. We have the chance now to devise a sustainable plan that will benefit all, but when we go past this we are once again borrowing from the future. I sincerely hope the new administration has considered this. We must engage the best minds in order to plan what has not been planned before.

I ask you to consider; in order for us to return to the same prosperity that we have experienced in the last decade, we would have to return to the same kind of inequities of greed and self entitlement and unsustainable economies that brought it into existence. "This is crazy thinking" doing the same thing over and over , expecting different results. The stage is set for social upheaval and confusion everywhere and the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
